Creative Shoe Storage For Shopaholics!

by Alexandra Mihaescu

Funny what blog topics are inspired by. I was talking to a girl from work today about, you guessed it, shoes. So it turns out I’m not alone in my obsession with shoes (duh) and my problems with shoe storage. My co-worker actually stores some of her shoes at work! She’s got a serious collection. I store my shoes in these clear boxes I bought for $1.99 each from the Container Store. They stack nicely and I can easily pick out my shoes.

I know this is only a problem for us city dwellers living in tiny spaces but some of these shoe storage solutions are so gorgeous you might want to use them regardless!

1. This one is the most interesting, but also the most expensive. Definitely looks better than my plastic boxes though! You can find it in 4 colors at Rakku for $65.

2. Can you make shoe storage out of toilet paper cylinders and MDF boards? Yes, you can…check out the DIY tutorial from the Fashion Architect.

3. I found this one on Apartment Theraphy. The shoes are sitting pretty on a magazine rack. This is a great option because it gets your shoes off the floor and onto your walls, which we all have plenty of!

4. Last but not least, is a creative solution from Ikea Hacker! Buy a stylish kitchen cabinet from Ikea, add extra shelves and hang it up in your hallway area. It should fit about 20 pairs of shoes!

So how do YOU store your shoes? I’d love some more creative ideas!
