I have great news! In approximately two weeks from today, everyone will be able to shop the Esculon jewelry collection directly from this site! Esculon & EsculonSays will merge to create a powerhouse website.
The day I decided to start this blog, I knew it had to be something special. If you want to create a brand and have people take you seriously, you have to build a well-designed blog. Of course, that doesn’t mean you need a $7,000 custom theme…it just means you have to do lots of research to select the right theme from a sea of thousands and customize it to fit your needs!
In my case, I chose a self-hosted Wordpress blog and paid $87 to purchase the Thesis theme created by Chris Pearson. It was the best decision I could have made and the customizing continues!
If anyone else is looking to build a blog, check out this great website with the top 100 free themes for wordpress. And if you’re just starting out with HTML coding and CSS, you will need a good book to get you started. I spent an entire day in Barnes & Noble trying to find the right one and it doesn’t get better than “Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML.” It’s super easy to read and has tons of pictures to explain the concepts behind all that coding!
By the way, be super careful when signing up with a hosting company. I DO NOT recommend AN Hosting or Midphase. THEY SUCK!! I signed up with them in the very beginning and I had problems constantly. My website would crash multiple times each week and every time I called them I’d get one of these, “we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience…it will never happen again.” Yea right!
