Funny Story About a Recent Earring Order!

by Alexandra Mihaescu

If the man in your life is a JETS fans, then you know that last Thursday was a big night in football. Londy is a HUGE fan so you know what that means for me. Anyway, last Thursday the JETS played the Patriots for first place in our division and this being one of the greatest games of the season, we decided to go out.

Indigo is literally three blocks away from my house. The walls are covered with flat screen TVs playing nothing but sports. On this particular night, every TV in the place was tuned into the JETS game with the sound blasting. Ok…so this place sounds like your typical sports bar/lounge right? BUT LET ME TELL YOU…if you get too excited over a sporting event THEY TELL YOU TO BE QUIET…I know, I couldn’t believe it either!

When the JETS scored a touchdown we cheered…obviously right?? Aren’t you supposed to cheer when your team scores, while you’re in a sports bar?? Apparently not…some waiter comes up to us and basically tells us to shut up…really nasty about it too! Keep in mind, we live around the corner and we’re regulars here…NOT ANYMORE WE’RE NOT!! Basically, if you want to have a good time, this is not the place….and if you decide to try it, just remember the library rule and keep quiet. I didn’t make that rhyme on purpose but I kinda like it!

Haven’t they read my speech on good customer service?!? So of course, as an upset and disappointed customer, I plastered bad reviews of Indigo everywhere I could, including Foodista, an Astoria foodie blog.

Anyway, a couple of minutes later I get an order for the Golden Dotty Studs from none other than Judith, the editor of Foodista. How funny is that?? A bad night at Indigo lead to an earring order! Not only did she order the studs, but she also mentioned Esculon on another popular blog she writes for, Joey in Astoria. Needless to day, I’m not so mad anymore… =)

I LOVE the earrings and am wearing them right now–thanks so much. It’s nice to know that the product over-achieved even from the beautiful picture on your website. I also have to say that I loved the packaging–I’ve never seen that before. It made it seem more high-end and significant. I will be ordering more stuff and will be spreading the word about your site.

It’s it funny how things link together to turn something bad into something good? Apparently you were supposed to have that terrible time at the restaurant so you would be encouraged to write the reviews, get noticed, and then have an earring order. Woot woot! And I’ll put that restaurant on my list of places not to eat in NY!

Indigo is great–I think that was a fluke experience. I wouldn’t put it on your not-to-go list.
