My mom is a mother to three children and she is very busy between working and her doing college online and all of the activities that we are all in and is constantly running us everywhere!
I think my mom just needs a time to relax and this is exactly the way to do it! im seventeen and my brother is 11 and my sister is 8 and we cant get the money together to do it ourselves! i mean i have a job but all my money goes to my insurance! I just want your help to give her this chance for herself!!

Hi,I a single mother of four .In Jan. o8 I found out that my son had diabeties and had a death in the family.Shortly after my mom had blood clots and she was in bad shape now I find out that my dad has parkingtons.Im unemployed and struggle to make ends meet oh and I home school my youngest two which is new to us this year because I couldnt allow my children to become lost in a failing school system.I also have a skin condition that heredity on the bottom of my feet that doesnt allow me to stand for long periods of time.My children or myself have never taken a trip or even gone to a amusement park.I really deserve a nice trip to the spa

Spa days are something I live for. I have a muscle condition that makes my muscles sooo overused, and tight. Massages make me feel so great afterwards. I wish I could go every day.

No I have never given an experience gift. But I did once take my mom on a trip to Disney world. I suppose that would count. She had a blast, and really enjoyed the warm weather to boot. My mom never got to travel by plane anywhere besides when my father was in the army in Germany in the very early 1960’s. I would really like to take her on another exciting trip, but it may be too late. She now has altzheimer’s, and it may be too much for her. So that trip we took together has even more meaning now, knowing it may have been her last too.

Anyways, I would perhaps give an experience gift to my DD. Once, I took her on a spa trip, and she really loved it.

Of course, I’d just end up giving it to someone who actually deserved it anyway. I said I was greedy, not heartless!

I don’t have the kind of story that most of the others do. I’m just a plain ol’ wife and mother of two kids… A woman who’s overwhelmed with life and all that’s been filling it up… exhausted and ready for a break!

As far as the experience gifts… I did check out something like that for my husband for Christmas last year, but the one I checked on didn’t have enough of a variety & I couldn’t find something I was confident he’d enjoy. The idea, though… the idea is FABULOUS. Who needs more ’stuff’ after all… I love what t.e. said about only truly owning your memories. Very true, very true… Thanks for this chance!

If I were to win this, I would give it to my mom. She has been through quite a lot. After beating breast cancer, she lost her beloved husband and best friend (my father) after 42 years of an amazing marriage. She lived with my family until she was finally able to be on her own. After a few months, she discovered an immense amount of mold in the condo she is renting (so much that a mushroom started growing out from under the baseboard in the bathroom!!) She is very allergic to mold and now has all kinds of skin and health issues. She is back living with me and I feel so badly for her. She is not splurging on anything due to the economy so I think this would be really wonderful for her.

I have give “experience gifts” and I think they are amazing!!

I believe that any woman would love to have a “spa day”. The reason I feel that I deserve a “spa day” is because I am a mother of two babies, a wife and I work two jobs. I have been through so much this year. It starts off with marriage problems, going through depression and losing a sister. I’ve never been through so much at one time. I thought I was about to lose my husband, it was the worst feeling ever. than trying to take care of two kids by myslef wasn’t easy. I ended up losing my sister who was battling an illness. I was trying to prepare myself for this one but how could you prepare yourself for losing a loved one. She faught her sickness until the end and never gave up and we didn’t either. I guess she couldn’t no more and she had to let go. She left a handsome son behind, five sisters, her mother and father. We miss her very much. So this is why I feel that I deserve a “sap day” and every woman entering.

I would love a spa day for the same reasons as everyone else. Like most women, I have had several long years of balancing stressful work (I am a hospice social worker), taking care of kids, relocating due to husband’s job and be caregiver to my who was terminally ill with breast cancer. Like most women, I have no problem making time to take care of others, just forget to take care of me.

I love the idea of experience gifts. At the end of the day, you only truly own your memories. An experience gift would make great memories.
